Job Overview

Jackson Family Dentistry is seeking a dependable and personable Registered Dental Hygienist for a permanent part-time position in our established private practice in Downers Grove.

This position offers a consistent Thursday schedule plus one Saturday per month, making it a great fit for a hygienist who wants to add another regular workday to an existing schedule.

We are a privately owned, single-doctor dental practice with a loyal patient base, modern technology, and an experienced team. We value quality patient care, clinical judgment, professionalism, communication, and teamwork.

We do not operate under corporate production quotas, and our hygienists are given appropriate time to care for their patients.

Schedule

Thursday: 8:45 AM to 7:00 PM
First patient at 9:30 AM

One Saturday per month: 6:45 AM to 1:30 PM
First patient at 7:30 AM

Applicants should be available for Thursdays and one scheduled Saturday per month.

Our standard recall appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes. We do not routinely double-book hygiene appointments or expect hygienists to rush through patient care.

Pay

$50.00 to $55.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hygienist who is:

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care

• Perform periodontal assessments and charting

• Perform scaling and root planing

• Take digital X-rays, including FMX, bitewings, and panoramic images

• Capture intraoral photographs

• Educate patients regarding oral health, home care, and recommended treatment

• Use an iTero scanner for Invisalign and other cases

• Assist with CBCT imaging using Carestream technology

• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation in Eaglesoft

• Communicate clinical findings and patient concerns to the doctor

• Maintain efficient patient flow without compromising quality of care

Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing

• Current CPR certification

• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program

• Strong communication and patient-care skills

• Availability to work Thursdays and one Saturday per month

Dental loupes with an attached light are strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience with the following is helpful, but not required:

• Eaglesoft

• Dexis

• iTero scanning

• Carestream or other CBCT systems

• General or private-practice dentistry

Training can be provided for the right candidate.
